Bird Walks and Field Trips

Our field trips are free, open to the public and suitable for all levels of interest. No sign-up is required.

Bring your binoculars, field guide, liquids, plus lunch for full-day trips; wear layered clothing, hats, and sun protection. Sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots recommended. Heavy rain cancels the walks unless otherwise indicated. Prior notification of attendance is not required. Participants of all experience levels are welcome and may join or leave the group at any time during the day.

Meet at the Kawana Terrace parking lot. Parking pass is required. We will walk at a ‘birding’ pace. No steep trails. We will be out in the open hills. Rain will cancel.

Pepperwood Preserve, Santa Rosa

We will meet at Pepperwood’s Dwight Center, where we will have a brief tour of the center and its display area. A field trip of birding and nest box cleaning will follow. Bring a lunch and we will eat at Three Tree Hill which offers a great view of Pepperwood. Rain cancels.
